Dimension: The Crochet Dress Our Customers Wear Down the Aisle
Meet Dimension, the dress that started it all.

If there is one pattern that defines Mermaidcat Designs, it is Dimension. My bestselling crochet dress of all time, made and worn by thousands of crocheters around the world, including brides who walked down the aisle in a handmade Dimension gown.

The pattern holds 381 reviews averaging 4.9 out of 5 stars, and more than 50 of those reviewers use the same three words: easy to follow.
Théa C.: “This pattern is perfect and really easy to follow, the dress looks beautiful once done.”Worn down the aisle
I never set out to design this as a wedding dress. But brides found Dimension, and they kept sending me photos: handmade gowns, made stitch by stitch, worn on the biggest day of their lives. Reviewers tell us they bought it to make their wedding dress, their reception dress, even an elopement dress. It has become one of the most meaningful things about this pattern: a dress pattern that becomes an heirloom.
Open back or closed back: your choice
Dimension started with its signature open back, the dramatic low sweep you see in the photos. When customers asked for a more covered option, for church weddings, cooler weather, or simply personal comfort, I designed the closed-back variation, and every Dimension owner received it as a free update. Both backs are in the pattern, so you choose the look before you make your first stitch.
That is my promise on every Mermaidcat pattern: all pattern updates are free, forever. Just re-download your pattern from your original link. You will never pay twice for the same pattern.
The choices do not stop at the back. Crocheters pick the short cocktail length or the full-length gown, and makers personalize it from there. One taller maker added a border at the hem for extra length. Another adjusted the sleeves and neckline to get her perfect fit. The pattern gives you the structure; the dress becomes yours.

Makers make it their own
Because the design is a clean canvas, makers take it in every direction. Some have made it as their very first time following a written pattern and finished with a dress they are proud to wear. And more than a few have told us that after Dimension, they came back for the rest of the collection.
“I love this dress. It was very easy to follow the directions .”
Just a few of the many
These four dresses are just a small sample. Hundreds of makers have left reviews on Dimension, and thousands of dresses have been crocheted from this one pattern since it launched: wedding gowns, beach dresses, ombre showpieces, and first big projects that turned new crocheters into dressmakers. If you make one, I would love to see it.
